Nope, before my time, both as a Bostonian and a human. I got it from the BPL flickr page, they have a ton of photos documenting the construction of that addition.
My friends often wonder why I can't stop raving about the Hancock Tower wherever I'm walking in the city (mainly Copley Sq). These pictures are exactly why.
The first one was taken Marathon Monday. I was leaning on my bike and like everyone else had been day-drinking, so I'm amazed I caught this shot. The second shot was taken a couple of days earlier while they were still setting up those white tents in Copley Square.
First one is STUNNING. Second one is just as good. Thank god I have two monitors because I wouldn't be able to pick which one to use as my desktop!!
I love the second one because it truly captures the isolation of the Hancock tower. It seriously looks like it's in the middle of nowhere because of the severe lack of high rise development, when in reality, the bustling Copley Square is right down below.
