I was perusing the BRA docs for this project and came across some renders that I'd never seen before. Don't know if they ever appeared in the old thread, but they're definitely not in this one. So here they are:

I hope they use that massive blank wall for movie nights on the roof or something, would be cool.

Oh man, didn't realize the condo building wasn't going to line up with the roofline of the Converse building. It surprises me to see this happen with some other new projects around town (I.e. Skanska project at former Burger King in the Fenway)

The apartment roofline will match up with the original roofline of the Converse building, just not the 2 story plus mech glassy bump out. And note that the Converse addition steps back, so if the apartment matched it's full height, it would likely need to step back too. This is much less jarring than the Skanska project, which brings to mind a spite building but in reverse.

As is, it looks like the apartment building will have a killer deck. Stick a trellis on one end and you're done.

Totally my fault, but I forgot that it wasn't going to be taller than shown in those renders. I thought it was in the 25-30 story range: not sub Twenty|20...

so will this be using pre-cast aprons to hide the seams between panels?

looks like it could end up being a pretty handsome facade...

BeeLine -- some very nice pix of what is looking to be a handsome addition to view of the drivers approaching town from the north

The new structure seems to complement quite well the old "Submarine Signal Building" -- now the home of Converse
