The first is Cambridge Street in Beacon Hill, the second is on the Harvard Law School campus.

In that first image, it appears that theyre replacing the side stop lights with overhead stoplights?

They did this in Kenmore too. Anybody know why? New federal mandate?

Definitely doesn't look better. In fact, they should remove the overhead lights on Memorial Drive and replace them with side posts, which would better fit into the parkway environment.

those overhead traffic lights ruin a lot of my pixs! There's something wrong with my photobucket account so I can't post an example

They're hideous. Most cities in Europe ban them on all but the widest streets. I used to like the fact that Boston, in contrast to most American cities, had very few.

sitting in traffic what do I see!

How about for the next two months we're only allowed to post warm-weather pictures? Starting after this pic of course...

And the award for most extroverted display of color in a new(ish) project goes to:

I kinda love that building. It's fun and interesting, exactly what Post-Modern should be. However the red and purple landscraper next to it is everything wrong with PoMo.

That is fantastic. It's like a taste of something...Brazilian. And I'm sure it adds some nice color in winter, too (Boston needs to Reykjavik it up and add more of this for the bleak months).

Wow, I have to get out there. Can you take a ferry?
