SBWTC /South Boston Waterfront Transportation Center | Seaport

Betting this gets demolished and redeveloped into office before 2030. This land is too valuable to use for "open space" and parking

^^Nice! I didn't realize a pedestrian walkway was going in here. That'll be a really convenient alternative for breaking up the block a bit--especially if you accidentally walk out from the BCEC onto WTC Ave. trying to get to Congress St./Seaport Blvd. w/o using stairs.

Labeled as "cross-block pedestrian connector."

You can actually see it in the render too:

^^Yeah, my bad. With the conversation on here centered mainly on its status as mostly a parking garage, I overlooked the details of SBWTC's 'multimodal' features.

I'm not holding my breath, but it would be cool if there was some sort of ceiling art/lighting sculpture along the walkway to make it more inviting. Any plans for that?

A cross-block connector is a great idea in this land of huge blocks. But one that runs through a parking garage is going to take a lot of work to feel safe after dark. Not that it cant be done, but my suspicion is that it is going to end up a long, empty path with no easy exist that is super creepy. But if it's better then hurray.

Someones gonna have to get some new perspective skyline shots from the roof once its open.

Anyone know why it's taking so long for the rest of the fins to installed to at least somewhat hide this turd?

I would love to see glass panels instead of the huge slab corners.... the color of the fins is insane. Is it orange because a helicopter pad is going on, and they want it to glow through the fog? If not, deep Blue, Navy or Winter Green would be a hoot. Still, i like it allot.

i spoke too soon. They're covering the concrete. ....Maybe build 1 more of these HUGE monsters
on one of the remaining parcels on the outer edges of the Seaport?
