If two cranes isn't enough, I noticed the base of a 3rd crane today!

^^^^^

Goes to show you how huge this development is in terms of size and complexity.

Awesome. This shot really illuminates how these parcels will establish, once and for all, a real actual street grid from Fan Pier to Fort Point. This is what I consider the "landing pad" of the Seaport - and now we'll have urban continuity on both sides of Fort Point. And, luckily, the architectural standard seems to be improving from the benchmark of earlier atrocities.

One Seaport Square signs up 2 nightclubs

Boston’s Big Night Entertainment is poised to expand in the Seaport District with two new nightlife venues on the South Boston waterfront.

The company has signed a lease for 21,930 square feet on three floors in One Seaport Square, a $600 million, 3-acre project with two apartment towers and retail space on Northern Avenue that’s under development by Berkshire Group, Boston Global Investors and WS Development.

Big Night confirmed its One Seaport Square commitment, but did not identify the venues, but a lease obtained by the Herald indicates it will open a second outpost of the Scorpion Bar, a “traditional Mexican tequila cantina with the attitude of a rock bar.” Its first Scorpion Bar opened at Connecticut’s Foxwoods Resort & Casino in 2009. The lease also points to a second venue, a new concept called The Grande.

Ugh...do we really need more bland, corporate-inspired Mexican restaurants in the Seaport?

Hate to say it but given the demographic buying there, isn't that appropriate?

Rosa Mexicano = Bad Mexican food restaurant

Scorpion Bar = Bad nightclub/lounge that serves Mexican food a la Red Lantern and Empire serving sushi/asian food.

More nightlife is usually better than less. Hopefully these fancy, expensive, corporate places will spawn more creative, eclectic establishments as the number of people out and about after dark increases.

Crane 3 is being erected.

Re: One Seaport Square | Parcels B-C@Seaport Sq. | Seaport

Yay! More soulless corporate outposts.

Re: One Seaport Square | Parcels B-C@Seaport Sq. | Seaport

It's an entirely new neighborhood of entirely new luxury housing and office developments. What makes anyone expect the Model opening up here?

Re: One Seaport Square | Parcels B-C@Seaport Sq. | Seaport

I was up Labor Day weekend, picked up my partner at Logan about 10:30 pm, drove to the Seaport, got lucky and found a parking spot across from Seaport Sq. (valet at Envoy was forty freaking dollars!!!). Walked back to the Envoy to take the elevator up to their roof top terrace for a drink (have wanted to do that since I saw the renderings!) before heading out and we were turned away by the two just barely 20-something youngsters guarding the elevator with their Ipads! The lobby was PACKED with 20/30 year olds, needed reservations just to go up for a drink though my brother said...one look at us two old goats and that settled that! :) So I predict, soulless corporate will be quite successful plus they're the only types that can probably afford the rents in One Seaport. I totally get it, ya gotta pay to play, it's all about Location, Location, Location!

Re: One Seaport Square | Parcels B-C@Seaport Sq. | Seaport

I think the chief benefits of this area are going to be the public space (if done well), the lessening pressure on the housing market (however little), and the concentration of the young, corporate demographic in one place. They are, on the whole, a stultifyingly dull group of people, so if this pulls any of them out of my neighborhood I'll be grateful.
