If I had to guess, I would say it's a combination of Boylston West and The Viridian holding this project up. With both having huge occupancies on Boylston St, there isn't much room to mobilize the site. The Point was held up because of Boylston West, but recently got approval since it is finally starting to wrap up.

Potential complaints from the neighbours about light pollution, I'd love to see something like this as a regular thing on that blank sheer wall in between movie viewings. Anything to activate that wall; I feel like Boston lags in these types of permanent space-activating installations. The lights under I-93 in South Boston don't count...

I think it's forgiveable if the developer is able to do something on that wall to activate it. I'd much rather have 4-5 storey street wall-reinforcing podiums with tall towers coming out of them, possibly set back from the podium, than these stout landscrapers. I'd hate for this stretch of Boylston to turn into a landscraper canyon.

Haven't seen any plans or permits pulled for the public way. Might just be site work coming soon?

I saw that yesterday too. I am hoping this is getting started, but wouldn't be surprised if it was just staging extra demo equipment from the point. I wonder if Derenzo was awarded both contracts?
