The Victor | 110 Beverly Street | West End

Re: The Victor

Or they could go the easier route and just bump out the street wall and put in some retail. Unfortunately, the Feds never met a street wall they couldn't imagine littered with mad bombers.

Re: The Victor

Wasn't the O'Neill building actually designed with retail frontage in mind, following the model of the already successful State Transportation Building? I don't know why this plan wasn't carried out, since the building design included it. We'd all hate the building less if this had been done.

Federal buildings have become increasingly fortified and shut off from the public ever since Timothy McVeigh parked a truck next to the Murrah building in 1995. 9/11 accelerated the fortification mode.

Re: The Victor

One of the cranes is being removed. Should be gone by today.

Re: The Victor

More like The Losor.

Amirightguys?

Re: The Victor

No irregularly spaced windows? Pshhh, this shit's amateur.

Re: The Victor

I'll wait for the windows and the final streetscape....but I'm not hopeful. Maybe something more interesting will be built on the adjacent empty lots...maybe...

Re: The Victor

This thing is hideous.

Re: The Victor

The only facade worse than the Kensington Tower. Jesus Christ

Re: The Victor

I like this but I've always been a fan of glass walls!

Re: The Victor

I think the intent is you will see a reflection of the Bunker Hill Bridge in the glass upon completion. Not sure at what angles you will see the bridge, though. If not for the reflection, then I guess they're just going for a sweet view of the bridge for the residents.

More like a sweet view of the residents from the bridge. Backlit last night, this Crystal Palace was perfectly transparent...

Reminds me of that place in New York where everyone was standing below to catch a glimpse of people fucking in the windows. Forget where it was.

Re: The Victor

Way to keep it classy!

But, to answer your question, at least one of the places was The Standard, on the High Line, in Manhattan.
