The Viridian (Fenway McDonald's) | 1282 Boylston Street | Fenway

It was definitely more green than in that render. It could have been the lighting. I'll see what I think tonight under different lighting.

How was it in comparison to DZH's pic below? I feel like the glass color below is very close to what's shown in the render, so if it's different than that, it's likely the glass you saw had the safety lining dshoost mentioned.

I don't know why we couldn't have had in the Seaport district the variety of surface treatments we see in these new developments.

I really like those Juliet-esque balconies. On a side note, BFD was on Boylston on Friday in this area, did something happen to the building or surrounding businesses?

This is pulling together really nicely. The green glass on the Juliet balconies looks great.

The end-on angle has always been the most striking to me. The building almost doesn't look wide enough for its height and length.

The new developments usually tear down those ghetto ass street lights, right? Those are god awful.

While this not relate directly to the Viridian, the contestants on Top Chef Boston lived right next door at 1330 Boylston while taping the show.

Right, but I thought when these big projects pop up, the developers usually reform the sidewalk in front of it...is that wrong?

All of Boylston from The Riverway to Arlington Street will be getting a makeover with trees and wide sidewalks. I'm guessing they will also add nicer street lights as well.

Boylston West and The Viridian are reconstructing their sidewalks to be in line with the new Boylston Street standards, however I don't think it involves changing anything outside of their lots.

No that is right with respect to virtually all significant projects. As part of the design review process with the BRA, the Developer creates a plan for improvements to the public sidewalks, which may involve new sidewalk materials, lighting, street trees, other landscaping, street furniture and other improvements. Bringing the lighting into conformity with current standards and the current plan for the area is pretty much a given. The plan for these improvements is presented to and requires the approval of the Public Improvement Commission, which consists of the heads of the Public Works Department, Transportation Department, ISD, Boston Water and Sewer Commission, and Property Management Department.
