Huh? What crooked windows?
Not crooked. Just misaligned. You know, that weirdly popular design we see so much of lately.

I'm assuming it will be less jarring (to me anyways) once the skin is up in that area. But, right now it looks awful.

Yeah, I've been holding my tongue until it's complete. It's too visually jarring right now.

not seeing the jarringness... seems like a pretty accepted design element these days--maybe won't last long and 10 years from now we'll be saying ("oh, that's so 20-mid-teens"), but certainly sufficiently common not to strike me as odd. Overall, this is a great building.

The glass for the Juliet balcony in the last photo looks a bit like a plywood patch after a hurricane. Otherwise, this one is still looking pretty good.

I really like this project. Veridian > Boylston West

They started putting up more Juliet balconies on the west side of this building and I think they look awful. Maybe it was the morning light, but the glass looked puke green when I walked by. The green glass combined with the light brown paneling made it look awful (almost like literal vomit).

Sometimes when balcony glass is installed there is a translucent, protective sheet kept on it while construction finishes at the property. If you watch construction of downtown Miami condominiums with their thousands of balconies, the glass usually is covered in a blue or green sheet/tape until most of the heavy lifting is done on site. Then one day a whole tower's windows can go from looking green to clear.

Hopefully this is the case. Otherwise... Abbey Group sh!t the bed with this one.

My guess is the green is permanent. Look at the renders-- little green rectangles all over the place.

If they look like the one shown in the picture above, I think it'll be fine. Once it all comes together, I think it'll be an afterthought.

It was definitely more green than in that render. It could have been the lighting. I'll see what I think tonight under different lighting.

IMO this is the best of the new crop of large projects in the area. Maybe "The Point" will top it.

Other than the rather banal party wall, as of now I prefer Boylston West. But really it will be hard to make a good call until they are both complete.

Either way, I'm pretty confident The Point will blow all of the other new buildings out of the water. I can't wait for that one to start.

I like that these new Fenway buildings, while adding great density and height, also come in a variety of heights. My numbers aren't all correct, but Viridian at 17 stories, Van Ness at 13? 10?, Skanska proposing at 18, the Point at 22-- so much cool stuff happening. I suppose Seaport will get it eventually, but differences in height often feel more important than the presence of height.
