Boston Properties Office Tower | 888 Boylston Street | Back Bay

Anyone know what happened to Bloomingdales? Weren't they supposed to open a location here?

They pulled it off of their list of upcoming stores about a year ago.

Anyone know what's going in the smaller space next to Tesla?

Pleasantly surprised about the street presence of this building especially at night, it makes me feel like I'm actually in an special/exciting city. Someone post a pic I don't know how to.

I was there yesterday. I was impressed with the Eataly signage out front. It's something grand and modern at the same time. Something Boston doesn't really have, at least the grand part in my opinion.

It is! I believe they got knocked down in a bad windstorm we had a a couple months back

Looks like they luckily fell inward onto the roof, otherwise we definitely would have heard about them smashing glass and crashing to the ground.

interesting. surprised i missed that.

but more to the point: 1) so in addition to being somewhat gimmicky, these things are not sturdy enough to withstand boston weather; 2) a couple of MONTHS ago and they haven't been replaced/reinstalled by now?

Your first comment probably answered the second. You don't replace them until you know you have a design that withstands Boston weather.

Bigger question -- why are the other ones still up there. Given inadequate design, aren't they a huge liability risk?

It may not have been a design issue so much as a improper installation issue.
