^ Mmk... I pretty much NEED that on a gallery wrap. Holy crap that is beautiful.

From Pier's Park this morning, one of the best and most dramatic views of the financial district's towers...

I came. Holy crap man, those rock!!

First one is definitely a nom for Photo of the Year 2013. Bookmarked. Such an ominous cloud cover.

Heh thanks. Piers Park seems to get some nice dramatic lighting. Probably something to do with so many towers right on the water, and the angle of the sun at dawn/dusk. Too bad it's such a pain in the ass to get to, places like Memorial Drive never seem as good. Here's some I took a couple years ago unfortunately before I got my dslr;

It's a pleasant walk from Maverick station in nice weather.

I can't consider a place that forces you into one method of transit easy to get too. I love the T but it has it's limitations, one being that it's not always the most time efficient. Especially when you start throwing in transfers, which would likely be the case as the Blue Line does not go very far. The reality is that without a car or bike I'd have no good Pier's Park pictures. It'd be too hard to notice the good lighting and get there in time.

A bike isn't much help in getting to Piers Park, unless you take that bike on the T.

Or live on the North Shore...

To be fair, I live in Orient Heights, and usually drive there.

Well I've been caught I never biked there either. I guess I'm just trying to point out the problem with an area being "accessible" when you can only get there at certain times and through certain routes (what if you don't live close to a T stop?). Not everywhere needs to be car accessible but if you want to rely on rapid transit than you better allow for walking/cycling to fill in the gaps. This is part of the reason the Red Line works, you can still traverse the corridor in other ways if the trains are down. I've been stranded downtown well after 1am and managed to walk back towards Davis Sq with minimal hassle. Had I lived in East Boston, I'd of been screwed.

That said, I had a friend who used to commute from Cambridge to East Boston via a bike on Beachem St. He's either more ballsy or more masochistic than me to deal with those trucks and potholes...
