More than just looking nice, I think it is looking distinctive--something we don't get enough of.

True, distinctive is too rare here but this kind of distinctive would work better on a low rise. It's overkill. Looks more prison than dorm.
How well is this going to weather/age?

Is this cladding going to go all the way up, or will there be any alternating between this and glass?

I completely agree. I was thinking the same thing as I looked at your pictures. From some angles, I feel like it is a total mess, other angles I like that it is at least different than what has gone up / is going up at other schools nearby.

I think it's just one of the panels, stored on the lower roof until they install. Pretty reflective..

This building is so strange. It isnt different enough to stand out(ala the mass art tower) and it doesn't blend in with the surrounding architecture. It takes cues from what is around it, but doesn't adhere strictly to the norm for the area. I think i Liek it, but i am not sure, it is just somewhere in the middle.

The pictures Jass posted didn't seem to show any progress from the ones a week earlier. Data's showed a whole other floor finished though, so yes, I jumped the gun on my snark.

It's looking unlikely that "Fall 2013" is still the estimated completion date, eh?

They still have about a month. I think if they really hauled it they could complete it on time, but they could at least open up some of the floors and finish work on the upper levels either way (if that's allowed by the city).

Remember that were likely working on the interior while they were waiting for exterior cladding to arrive, hence those yellow and purple panels we've become so accustomed to seeing. So this might be closer to completion than we think.
