Millennium (Hayward) Place | 580 Washington Street | Downtown

Re: Millennium Place III | Hayward Place

"If you scan it, it will build"

If only it were that easy...

Re: Millennium Place III | Hayward Place

The concrete formwork is really quite sculptural. Looks awesome in person.

You can see Kensington rising in the background:

My desk is literally 5 feet from that second window from the top on the right.

Yes, I guess this means I should take and post more pictures.

Re: Millennium Place III | Hayward Place

I think those coverings used during construction are going to be essentially what the finish facade will be like. I actually like the effect it has when walking down washington street so far.

Re: Millennium Place III | Hayward Place

Can someone get a shot of the view looking down Washington from the north?

Re: Millennium Place III | Hayward Place

I'm not the biggest fan of this one or the Kensington, but even under construction, the sense of cohesiveness, completeness and density these projects bring to this part of Washington is very satisfying to experience. I'm looking forward to Filenes being completed and all of Washington St. downtown being whole again.

Re: Millennium Place III | Hayward Place

Probably not the best time of day to be taking pics from the north on Washington St but...

Re: Millennium Place III | Hayward Place

That cladding is verrrrry new. I was walking by there only three or four days ago and that definitely wasn't it up yet.

At least it's not Alucobond? I kind of like it.

Re: Millennium Place III | Hayward Place

This is Roman brick.

Millennium appears to use Fauxman brick.

Re: Millennium Place III | Hayward Place

Loving the street enclosure, no matter how bad the cladding.

Re: Millennium Place III | Hayward Place

A little more cladding...

Some minor activity across the street. They seem to be redoing the entrance to the Hyatt:

And the building the post office is in (just across Harrison from this site) is also getting a new entrance and lobby. I think they recently put new windows (or did some other exterior work) to the whole building as well. Hopefully they can rent out their ground floor retail at the corner of Chauncy soon, too.
