Love that night pic of the Hancocks but gosh, really wish the powers in charge would relite the Old Hancock! It was spectactular the way it used to be lit up, totally bathed in light!
Was the old tower included in the recent sale of the Hancock tower? If so Boston Prop. like's to light up it tower's :)

Summer, where are ye?

Looking at this view, I can't help but think of Jersey City when seen from lower Manhattan. Their locations gaurantee that we mind them, and that sucks since both are so pedestrian. But Kendall's skyline wins over JC's any day of the week, because JC taught me the very valuable lesson that it's entirely possible to have too much glass. God, what a lifeless parade those towers are...

That's one of my favorite "love to hate" views, especially when you're on the other side of the street and you can see even more banality.

You can see the seeds of the South Boston Waterfront in that view, with its cascading metal sculpture thing desperately trying to animate a static, lifeless landscape.

Great shot! It looks like it would be on a marketing brochure for Back Bay.

With the neon and banners, I'd say it'd be a marketing brochure from ca. 1987.

Rotting snow 1, modernism 0.
