Re: Residences at Kensington

As cheap as this building is...holy f*cking canyon in the third shot.

Re: Residences at Kensington

Glass curtain wall is the one (small) saving grace. Don't think The Architectural Team will do any horn blowing about this on their web site.

Re: Residences at Kensington

Maybe not, but they were very pleased with completing it and getting paid. They did what they were told to do under budget and in time.

Re: Residences at Kensington

This is a big project for TAT, horns will be blown.

Re: Residences at Kensington

That brown bit along the street looks like the storage shed for the China Trade building...at least they could have raised it to the same cornice level or given it some texture....awful aesthetic insult!

Agreed, it is absolutely repulsive. What is the point?

They were chosen because they were willing to do whatever it took. Designers are self selected based on their standards. TAT is willing to attach their reputation to this building ... as all designers should.

Re: Residences at Kensington

Excellent photos as usual, Boston02124.

Re: Residences at Kensington

The Kensington looks like a cardboard box with an image of a building being projected onto its sides.

Re: Residences at Kensington

Looks especially bad contrasted with the Millennium-Ritz towers.

Re: Residences at Kensington

There will be an outdoor swimming pool on the roof of the garage. Nice amenity.

Re: Residences at Kensington

Here's a shot from the top floor, looking toward the W with the Hancock beyond.

I hate the architecture as much as everyone else, but these views will rent the units.

Re: Residences at Kensington

except that view will be blocked in large part by the jacob wirth's development

Re: Residences at Kensington

Perhaps, but the Kensington has several more floors.

That particular view isn't the money shot anyway - I had more photos of the (better) views toward the Common and the Charles, but they didn't come out so good.

Re: Residences at Kensington

There's nothing wrong with defending it.

There is a very noticeable pattern in this thread. Someone says something nice or takes the courtesy to post great picutures. That is then followed up by a snide remark or poor attempt at a belittling metaphorical comparison. And it is quite obvious that the naysayers are trying to get in the last word.

Re: Residences at Kensington

Comments on the (perceived low) quality of the building should not at all be confused with comments on the (generally high) quality of the posted photographs.
