I like this shot because you can really see the gradient change from brownish orange at the base to yellow orange at the top.
 
You must like this building. I think it might just be Boston's best building. Certainly the most interesting one built in decades... Also underappreciated, nobody talks about it.

Given what NU is building I'd have to say this is the best new dorm in the city hands down.
 
I love how wherever you are in Roxbury, the Fenway, LMA, the Tree House is there.

Minus the mature trees ... if any trees at all. Trees do not like being planted hundreds of feet in the air.

They could probably put trees up there if they use the right varieties that is only about 40 to 50 feet up in the air I don't think it would be a huge issue that building isn't that tall. The reason I don't think they will put trees is just that it is very expensive.

You're also looking at a stepped terrace. The mid-section has denser vegetation.

Wasn't doubting his qualifications. My implication was only that the trees & vegetation appear to be taller. I'm sure Elkus and the landscape architect picked vegetation that can handle the elements to fully realize what they are looking to achieve.

Here's an example of a roof garden across the river in Cambridge. Six floors up, (about the same height as what's proposed to be planted on at Boylston West), and it has a few decent sized trees! We lived in a new high rise here in Atlanta (the Metropolis)with a pool deck above the parking garage! Fairly large trees were placed in very large pots and survive to this day, 15 years later! We're talking a few floors above the street, not 50 floors up. It's quite doable!

Yeah, I'm aware of the CC Garage Deck. It was an amazing urban oasis.

The trees had to be located sparingly on top of columns though:
