Yawkey Center @ Dana Farber | 450 Brookline Ave | Longwood Medical Area

Re: Dana Farber Cancer Care Center

Impromptu tour this afternoon. A shame I didn't bring a camera...

Re: Dana Farber Cancer Care Center

I really like it. Wish we had something like it planned for the Seaport instead of Park Lane II, III, IV, etc.

Re: Dana Farber Cancer Care Center

Nothing new here but they're getting closer to opening, I think.

Looks pretty nice, thanks for the pics.

Re: Dana Farber Cancer Care Center

This building is quite handsome; too bad it's invisible to most of the city, hiding inside the dense Longwood medical ghetto.

Re: Dana Farber Cancer Care Center

I was up on 12 & 14 today making sure the first occupants are happy.

It pleases me to know that folks like Yawkey.

Re: Dana Farber Cancer Care Center

12 & 14 ... is this a building without a 13th floor?

Re: Dana Farber Cancer Care Center

^ Nice shot from the PMC Bridge. I took a similar one into the hole a couple of years ago with my mobile, but it was too dark to post here...

I'll be up on 10 in a couple of hours for a walkthrough...

Re: Dana Farber Cancer Care Center

It's looking great. I like the massing of it and I love that break in the glass facade at street level with the protruding glass and wooden boxes.

Great shots. =)

Re: Dana Farber Cancer Care Center

Looks like the Dana Farber Center is literally crying.

Must be sick of all the snow as well.

Beton? Any ideas?

It wasn't so bad when I visited Yawkey earlier today. Several weeks ago, I purchased ~ $50K of heated cable to prevent icing on the parapet railings outside the top floor mechanical spaces. We may need to consider a similar solution at the entrance.

This may just be the results of a particularly extreme weather condition. In any event, I'll drop a note to the VP of Facilities and see what she has to say.
