Aw - leave Joe alone, Clements has always been my favorite real estate reporter in this town. When he worked for Banker & Tradesman, that rag used to be a must-read.
Both gas stations on that block were also purchased by Samuels and are/were in the process of having their storage tanks removed. I imagine an agreement will be made to relocate the USPS dispatch depot is pending. Now if a new Shaws could be located on this block under new construction, that would free up another large, and the smaller lower lot, parcels for development.
Its a sad day for Boylston street. The Hojo, fast food chains, goodyear store, gas stations and auto repair gave the block a style not found anywhere else in the city.
Right, they made the street look like Saugus or Framingham. Glad to see this stuff slowly going away.

I believe that as part of the sale, Goodyear will be moving to 1330 Boylston St. Goodyear would only sell unless it could keep a presence in the area. The new shop will be significantly smaller than the current space.I walk past that Goodyear almost every day..what an eye sore. About time it goes. I'm excited to see what they have planned.
Better than Trilogy? That say's a lot since I think Trilogy is a really good looking building! Beantown could use another 10 Trilogy's, 1330's, and Archstone's.
