Because it's MassArt it seems a fitting building. And, I'm digging it. The cladding seems a little overkill at the penthouse screening level on top though. Something different on top would suit it better.

That is one SICK (in a good way), telephoto lense then.

It does make sense - - I was having a hard time figuring the placement of the photographer given the space and proximity between the Citgo sign and the Mass Art dorm.

The lense goes as strong as 14x optical, and I'd say this zoom was pretty close to that. I actually had to go back and check where I took this from. (yeah, I walk a lot, and I take a lot of pictures) I thought it was from a garage at first but it's actually from Prospect Hill in Somerville.

Here is a more zoomed out shot from the same location

And here is a shot of the hill itself from the parking garage in the foreground of the first picture (on the page AND in this post). The observation area is the stone tower.

And a bonus shot from Prospect Hill. It doesn't offer a good view of the financial district, but is great for looking out over the Back Bay, Cambridge, Longwood, and a lot of the colleges.

Yep, telephoto lenses definitely flatten things out and make the depth hard to decipher.

that last pix shows how the BackBay skyline would look if they only built stumps around the 2 towers, interesting veiw!

Someone posted a pic of the MassArt building on another thread maybe a week ago...it was in the distance...but not far...looked like it was poking up in a thick forest of trees! A beautiful pic but I can't figure what thread I saw it in! I thought at the time, this was the thread it should have been posted in!
