Raffles Boston (40 Trinity Place) | 426 Stuart Street | Back Bay

It's been a while since I've posted, but this reflection needed to be shared.

I'm with kz on the building itself: it's not a good example of anything. You may see Bauhaus, but it's a cheap developer grade V.E.'d take on whatever it is. ...but this is Genius: Use half that wide sidewalk for tables, Parisian style - with awnings and patio heaters it would be usable 9...

Lancaster Boston | 1501 Commonwealth Ave | Brighton

Re: 1501 Commonwealth Ave Is Merrill Diamond still the developer of record on this one? I imagine he was able to lock down this parcel for short money, then sit on it for 5 years until the market in A/B warranted going forward.

    Boston Harbor Flood Protection Projects

+1 It's very simple - the amount of carbon in the atmosphere, when looked at over 100,000 years, has spiked exponentially since the start of the industrial revolution. It continues to increase to unprecedented levels. This in itself constitutes global climate change - it's effects are far...

Joe - do not feed the troll. Arguing with this guy is a self inflicted pain much like getting yourself caught in your own zipper.

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Re: Christian Science Church Center Renovation/ New Towers Does anyone know if Copley Place is going to break ground next spring? I've heard conflicting reports on Simon's stomach for it - their business is malls, not high rise condo development. It would be amazing to see CSC and Copley...

You can thank The Mount Vernon Company for almost single-handedly transforming Brainard Rd. I'm glad to see their efforts are such a success - hopefully they'll keep doing more of this. If the aB awards had a best developer category, they'd be my choice.

Copley Place Expansion and Tower | Back Bay

Re: Copley Place plan calls for condo tower Damn, every time this thread comes up, I hope to see news on the tower - maybe even that it's back on track and construction will be starting. Instead, I just found out that I'm white trash.

In other news of interest to the Irish (and anyone else that likes a wee drop)... Five Horses Tavern has put up their sign at the old Columbus Cafe space. Looks like another month or two on the buildout, windows still boarded. Guess they want to start a buzz early.

Liberty Mutual Tower | 157 Berkeley Street | Back Bay

Re: Liberty Mutual plans major Boston expansion Great handle, Al; obviously a patron of the classics. I can't believe anything like this is still getting built - and in NYC even. It's so Caddyshack vintage 1980 crap. Strongly supports the "Liberty Mutual is a win because it could have been...

+1. Sonic is low grade dog food. In-N-Out is approaching B Good quality (less the organic, local sourcing thing) at a Mc'D's price point.

Great shot - shows how prominent this will be as you look up Tremont St. Hope the exterior materials are solid, the renderings make it look like a great addition to the street scape.

Not surprising, but he did get a lot of free publicity. From the rendering of the building, it looks like 1 or 2 levels of parking could fit nicely under it on the sloped site, without having to change the design above the street level on N. Beacon.
