PO Square could only be considered a "slam dunk" in an 80s frame of mind in which enticing office workers out of their cafeterias and into some landscape-walled garden was a heroic feat of urbanism, and paying for the thing with underground parking wasn't a devil's bargain.

Re: Copley Place plan calls for condo tower You don't need to be a New York or London to be a "pied-a-terre city". I'm sure there's lots of companies that have leased out chunks of new Boston condo towers for short term corporate housing that doesn't get used year-round.

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's Roche Bros. upscale? It's pretty middle of the road I think. They have a more upmarket brand called Sudbury Farms, which might be a better fit for the location for the name alone (can't believe "Roach Bros." ever made it as a business.)
